I have finally got round to adding the corridors sections as a separate download from the Infestation quest. This separate download comes with two additional straight sections not in the quest pack. Use with the quest or standalone.
After play testing another game of Rising Dead, we decided to start experimenting with more of the RPG side of things. Every thing was very make it up as you go. Unfortunatley I find it hard to play like that and need some sort of rules. I'm also not willing to wade through multiple books to get the RPG feel. So as another side-line I'm looking at creating some RPG tools that remove the books but still give the same effect if not better.
I'm currently working on a targeting and wounding system. Here's a screen shot of where I am with it..........still very W.I.P.
The first 2 images show the general wounding system (if you are hitting a target but not in any specific location). You click the "Wound" button and it will roll a D100 and then the hit area will highlight red. Not in the screen shot another dice is rolled to determine the outcome of the hit (this is where the damage tables come in), at the moment they only contain test text.
The second 2 images show the targeter in work. You click the targeter checkbox and the target appears. You place this over the area you are aiming for and then press the "Wound" button, another D100 is rolled to determine the accuracy (represented by the ring) a D8 is also rolled to determine which area of the ring (currently shown by the grey arrows) so although you may be in the correct ring, you may be in the wrong part of the
ring and miss.
In the example above: The first image would be a glancing hit on the shoulder, the second image would be a firm hit on the shoulder.
I will then link this up with a more complex table for hitting eyes, nose, mouth etc.....
As always let me know your thoughts
I have added a new page in the Rising Dead section. That contains various items of equipment that can be used in the game or in your own games. These equipment are.
Equipment 1 - Axe, Sledge Hammer, Browning, Shot-Gun, Meat Hooks, Base-ball Bat, Cricket Bat.
Equipment 2 - Bandages, Alcohol, Riot Helmet, Katana, Lighter, Molotov Cocktail.
Equipment Car - Tyres, Red Key, Yellow Key, Green Key, Tyre Iron.
More will be added including some comedy ones.
I have added a new Rules section to the Downloads area. This will contain home brew rules that I use in the various games I play.
Active Hiding - The first set of rules cover actively hiding or taking cover. It covers how being "Active Hidden" can give the initiative to player models. The file contains tokens to be used and rules in how I use them.
I have added a new download to the Accessories section of the Download page. A file containing 70 different types of blood splatter.
These have been designed around the PCL25 labels. These are 25mm labels that come in sheets of 70. They come in a variety of styles - recommend buying them in transparent and low tack (post-it note stickyness) so that they can be used multiple times. Below are two UK based sites that sell these (you may need to e-mail them to request this)
I hope they bring a new angle to your games.
It's not very often I promote Kickstarters, but for these guys I am making an exception.
The guys (Colin & Wayne) over at Battle Systems are running a Kickstarter campaign to fund their SCI-FI Modular Terrian. They are a small company and the quality of the items shown so far are excellent.
There's one particular aspect of their Terrian that I like, and this is the flexibility of it. They have created a system that allows you to have a wall section but with this one wall section you can create multiple types of wall. For example you an slide a computer module onto the wall, or slide on a cryogenic chamber, how about a computer terminal, or a power conduit.......already with one wall section and a few addons you can create five different looks.
I've dedicated a page to the pledgers of the Kickstarter to give requests for additional terrain. The guys are taking this list seriously, and have already looked into creating some of the components suggested.
Take a look, and pledge if this is your cup of tea.
Played our first game of Rising Dead brief summaary can be seen on the Rising Dead Page. Updated some of the Artwork and updated some of the rule to Alpha 1.1
In this version you can also print off 4 weapon cards
- Sledge Hammer
- Browning (Pistol)
If anyone playtests these I love to hear your suggestions.
I have now added the last of the Chromatic Dragons to the Monster section on the download page.
The Blue Dragon:
As the rest of the Dragons the file contains the monsters card as well as a breath template. Slightly changed the breath weapon from lightning bolt to electricity as the template look suited this better
The Red Dragon:
The mighty Red Dragon again comes with a monster card and a firey breath template.
Images are supplied by OTHERWORLD Miniatures and the miniatures can be
purchased from their store at:
